| Around 60 Golden Bulldogs including spouses/spices, etc. enjoyed a great Christmas Celebration last night at the Uplands Recreation Centre in Hawkwood. The members who attended spanned the years 1972 to 2007 that they worked at SWC . It was a pleasure to have with us again a couple of "Wet Coast" Golden Bulldogs again - Jack Hyatt and David Archer. Although a number of "old timers" were tied up during this busy season and could not attend, it was great to see a large number of new faces (at the Christmas Celebration) including the longest "serving" Golden Bulldog - Dennis Cantrill - 1974 to 2007 at SWC!! It was a great time to catch up on news, meet new Golden Bulldogs, and once more share the great collegiality that we experienced while working at good old Sir Winston Churchill. Terry Allen took a number of pictures which I hope to have posted on a website some time soon - probably at www.goldenbulldogs.berndtcanada.com . I've attached only a couple in order to keep the file size of the email in check Special thanks goes out to Val Arsenault for arranging the venue again, as well as Sheana Rauk, Anne Dewitt, Donna Sterling and Nalda Burns for planning the celebration, ensuring that cups, coffee, drinking glasses, etc. were there for the occasion. Thank you also for Donna and Terry Allen for phoning a number of people and inviting them to attend. A special thank you to all who provided donations for the Food Bank to be given to those in need. The goods will be delivered to the Food Bank today. The GB Vintner's trophy went this year to Val and Larry Arsenault's presentations in both the red and white wine categories - Lucky #3!! Congratulations and thank you to all those home vintners who contributed their best to the wine tasting competition. Thank you also to all who participated in the tasting and provided professional ranking of the offerings! Around 10 pm, Val literally had to ask the relaxed, convivial group to vacate the premises - part of the condition of us using it. We are thinking of hosting a luncheon some time in March or April so look for information on that.
